About the Region
As multifaceted and rich as the flora and fauna of the Nockberge is also the culture of this region. For centuries, influenced by the agricultural population, traditions developed, some of which are still lovingly maintained today. Made visible by the way of building, the history of settlement and the many events. The philosophy of a biosphere park consists of numerous values to protect and promote the region – starting with the preservation of the landscape (habitats worthy of protection and cultural landscape), to the protection of cultural diversity and customs, to the involvement of the population in the development of the region, as well as the coordination and cooperation of tourism, economic, educational and educational research activities and projects.
