For beginners and families with small children, the Falkert ski area is perfect. The experienced skiers among you will love the 100 kilometers of slopes in the World Cup resort of Bad Kleinkirchheim. The Turracher Höhe is also high up – 14 lifts, some of which are open from November to the beginning of May, and one of the longest XXL fun slopes in the world will make not only snowboarders’ hearts beat faster. An insider tip is the family ski area Hochrindl with 20 kilometers of slopes.
Winterwonderland
The easy tour to the Speikkofel is an ideal introduction to winter hiking fun. Through a pine forest you trudge up to the tree line and enjoy the clear winter air. The path leads through open alpine pastures over the “Kleiner Speikkofel” to the “Großer Speikkofel”. At the top you will be rewarded by a magnificent panoramic view over the Nockberge mountains to the Klagenfurt basin.

Here not only children’s eyes will light up! So dress warmly, don’t forget your hat and gloves, then you’re ready to go – along a prepared trail towards Sonntags valley. Then it’s time to gain momentum and head downhill for a kilometer to the frozen Falkertsee. In the evening the toboggan run is illuminated until 10 p.m. romantic tobogganing fun guaranteed!

On the Falkert you will find a 6.5 km long high-altitude cross-country ski trail. A wonderful route over a beautiful sunny slope, in absolute tranquility and with a panoramic view. Discover the variety of other groomed trails on the Turrach, Hochrindl or in nearby Gnesau.

Away from the slopes, the real winter experience for ski tourers awaits you with fantastic powder snow slopes in the Nockberge mountains.
